Long before I started painting furniture as a hobby, I was a teacher. For nine years, I was in the classroom in one way or another. Teaching is my jam. It’s what I do! For reasons that I won’t get into here, the public school classroom was no longer the setting where I felt at ease and fulfilled. I began Eight Hundred Furniture as a hobby. An outlet. A place where I could let go and be creative. It turned into my new platform where I could create, do, change, and make without hindrance and red tape.
I still use my love of teaching in every blog post I write. I share, explain, demonstrate, and bring my love of furniture painting to you. Each workshop and demonstration I conduct is another chance to be a teacher again. I absolutely love the interactions I get to have with people who want to learn skills and techniques to make their homes a space they love.
Like I said, it’s my jam!
With that love in mind, I have some exciting news! I’m starting a new series on my blog and YouTube channel called “Ask Eight Hundred”.
