A Record Cabinet Becomes a Place to Store Books in a Nursery!
My customers are just as creative as I am! When I posted this Artissimo record cabinet on my Instagram feed, a follower scooped it up immediately with a clever use in mind.

A Record Cabinet Turned Book Holder
My customer saw the inside of this refinished record cabinet and immediately knew she could store books inside of it.

This piece was going in a nursery and would be holding all of the books that baby would be enjoying for years to come.

Refinishing the Record Cabinet
This record cabinet was originally a medium-tone brown veneer. You can see the original color in the photo above. When it came time for me to refinish it, I knew I wanted to use a dark color so I wouldn’t have to fuss with priming and bleed-through.
I turned to Miss Mustard Seed’s “Artissimo” for a handsome and classy finish.

Artissimo is named after the fabric pattern shown in the photo above. It’s a dreamy midnight blue that looks good on just about everything!
I like to top my Artissimo pieces using Hemp Oil.

It makes this paint color the richest, deepest and darkest it can possibly be. Then, I like to rub away the edges of my Artissimo pieces to reveal the wood underneath. (And yes, those are real leaves on top of my piece!)
Could You Use More Book Storage?
So how about you? Could you use more book storage in your home? Consider a record cabinet and refinish it using Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint!
