An Antique Washstand is Refinished in Layla’s Mint Milk Paint

When I last shared the status of my Layla’s Mint washstand, here’s what it looked like:

I’m happy to share that work is all finished on this sweet little piece, and it turned out just perfect!

Staging the Layla’s Mint Washstand

When I started going through my staging props, I had to make some decisions about the items I was going to use to accessorize this washstand.

The assortment of antique sifters were a find at Morgantown Market.

The alabaster lamp and ironstone teapot were finds from another local antique shop just around the corner from me. Our hydrangea bush is in full bloom, so I snipped a few clusters and popped them into the teapot. They made for a beautiful pop of color.

My Favorite Features

Everything about this little washstand makes my heart happy. The glass knobs are not original to the piece, but I had them in my hardware stash. I think they add the perfect amount of sparkle and age.

The interior of this piece looks 100 times better with a hydrating coat of Hemp Oil Wood Finish.

Hemp Oil also graced the top drawer, making the dowel joinery shine once more.
