Glaze Effects are translucent water-based colors used to create beautiful decorative finishes such as antiquing and whitewashing. Use Glaze Effects as you would a decorative wax. Because General Finishes does not carry wax products, Glaze Effects provide the same look in a water-based liquid product. Glaze Effects can be intermixed or layered to create custom colors and finishes. Glaze Effects must be top-coated to be protected.
Pro Tip: Apply a layer of High Performance Topcoat in any sheen first, then apply your Glaze Effects. Having this layer of clear product on first helps create a surface that your Glaze Effects can wipe off from easily. It also creates more of a crisp look when you’re done. For a more rustic look, skip the layer of High Performance Topcoat.
