using citristrip to strip wood surfaces
CitriStrip is a fabulous chemical stripper that is safe to use indoors, and it has completely removed any fears I had of stripping furniture early on in my business.
My go-to product that I use to strip finishes is called CitriStrip.
You can find this product in the paint aisle in your local hardware store. It’s a fabulous product to use because it smells like oranges and is safe to use inside.
other tools you’ll need
In addition to having a chemical stripper, you’ll need object to do the scraping. I find that putty knives do a great job! I especially like plastic ones so I don’t accidentally gouge the wood on my pieces.
This is the one that I use. I got it from the Home Depot.
You will also need a paper plate, cardboard box, or some kind of receptacle to drop the “goop” off. I like paper plates but you can use whatever you have on hand.
You’ll also need some gloves and rags.
