Last Friday, I partnered with my local Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Coatesville for a special General Finishes paint demonstration. I went shopping for two beautiful project pieces and then painted them live in the store a few days later. Here’s a recap of how everything went if you weren’t able to attend in person.
Lamp Black Vanity
This vanity came to me with a usual red/brown stain that’s typical for vintage furniture. Using some Lamp Black Milk Paint and some Antique Walnut Gel Stain by General Finishes, this vanity is now looking classy and sassy!

Bespoke General Finishes Washstand
Oak furniture is where it's at! Some people don't care for oak furniture, and I get it. Oak can look really dated depending on how old it is and what color stain its wearing. Honey oak cabinets scream 1990's country to me and I can totally get on board with feeling all the "yuckies" with everyone...
Martha Washington – Take Two
This Martha Washington Sewing Table developed bleed-through AFTER I had already painted it! In this blog post, I discuss the steps I took to repaint a piece that was already painted to correct troubles that arose after it was already finished.

New Products and a Curious Piece
Back in November, I went to an antique mall about 45 minutes away from me. I was on the lookout for pieces that were pretty just the way they were and only required a quick spruce. Some cleaning and oiling here and there would be fine, but I wasn't on the hunt for a major project. ...
Lamp Black Buffet

Another Wildflower Dresser
I just couldn't help myself... I created a second Wildflower Dresser! Can you blame me? I've had this sturdy pine dresser for a little over a month in the workshop. I purchased it out of a barn and it needed quite the cleaning before a paint brush could ever touch it. Using warm water and Dawn...

Lamp Black Dresser with Java Gel Stain
When I paint furniture, I like to match the makeover with the piece itself. Based upon its shape and style, I can kind of "see" what it would look good in. When I saw this dresser for sale at Morgantown Market, it had an orange finish on it and I envisioned it looking much more handsome with...
